Role Description

The purpose of the Sales Manager is to grow business revenue through selling Guest Experience Management products and services. It is also important the Sales Manager acts as an ambassador for HGEM at events and new business pitches.

The successful candidate will have 3 years+ of B2B SaaS sales experience, with a drive to achieve results and a history of exceeding targets. Confident with demonstrating the use of software- and insight-based solutions to solve customer problems.

The role is field based, with a day a week at our office in Bath. You will report into the Sales Director. There will be a need for national travel in this role.

Working closely with the Onboarding Project Manager and Marketing Manager you will drive the business forward. You can draw on support from our Business Opportunities Manager and our office-based new business /onboarding coordinators.

  • Embody company culture, demonstrating our knowledge of hospitality and our credentials as the experts on Guest Experience Management
  • Work with Marketing to ensure consistent lead generation
  • Develop and manage the sales pipeline from prospect to close
  • Qualify short and long-term sales opportunities and accurately forecast
  • Proactively organise and perform new business pitches, effectively delivering product demos and communicating the list of benefits, features and options for each of the HGEM products
  • Understand the client needs and prepare articulate proposals
  • Overcome objections, confident in negotiation and conversion
  • Ensure seamless implementation of sales through effective communication of requirements with our onboarding team
  • Collaborate with all teams to identify and exploit revenue opportunities
  • Build ongoing relationships within the industry
  • Ensure correct usage of CRM and other sales applications
  • Track sales metrics and report data to the board on a regular basis
  • Attend industry events and award evenings to raise the company profile – these can be national and outside of your standard working hours.
  • Monitor competitor offerings in order to capitalise on our strengths and their weaknesses
  • Contribute to thought leadership in industry circles on the subject of Guest Experience Management and maintain familiarity with current affairs in hospitality
  • Input towards the innovation of new products within HGEM and keep up to date with technical developments within the sector
  • Conduct personable communication via phone, email and social channels


  • Interpret requirements for Guest Experience Management in a clear and convincing way
  • Confidently and persuasively present information and ideas to an audience
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Experience of lead qualification/business development
  • Track record in prospecting, nurturing, educating and qualifying target prospects to become clients
  • Proven experience in outbound cold calling, email campaigning and social selling, targeting multiple level contacts including senior management
  • Excellent lead follow-up and nurture skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage time and resources effectively
  • Adaptable communicator
