Boxing Day - What Can Pubs and Restaurants Expect?

By this time next week many of us will be heading back to work, but in the meantime the hospitality industry will be looking to bolster its performance during be a thriving festive period, with purses-strings hopefully loosened by recent spate of positive economic news.

We already know that most revellers planning a visit will do so on Christmas Eve in the evening, and Christmas Day at lunchtime, but what's in store for landlords and restaurateurs this Boxing Day?

Our survey indicated that 46% of punters could be tempted through the doors of their local on Boxing Day, with lunchtime, afternoon and early evening being the preferential time for a tipple of a bite to eat. The majority will be in small groups (of up to four) and will stay for under two hours.

So get ready to welcome those Boxing Day customers sporting their new Christmas gains and looking to continue that festive atmosphere throughout 26th December.
