HGEM charity roundup

We love a good fundraiser at HGEM and after looking back over the year’s events, we are proud to have supported a variety of charities in 2018.

Back in March, after the winter blues, we kicked off with a Zumba class and cake sale in support of Sport Relief. After indulging in lots of cake, Zumba put the team through their paces and a prize was awarded to the best dressed fitness freak.

May saw the start of our monthly yoga classes hosted by SwellyYoga. A great initiative allowing team members to get some zen time without having to step away from the office. Each month we ask the team to nominate a charity, so far, we’ve donated to Brain Tumour Trust, MIND, The Samaritans, Global Action in Nepal, Time2Share, Odysians and The Genesis Trust.

In late summer we launched a quarterly pot luck lunch giving the team a chance to show off their culinary skills. It’s a great opportunity for a catch up with colleagues, we had our latest lunch this week.

Not forgetting national fundraisers such as Elf Day for Alheimers Society, Christmas Jumper Day for Save The Children and of course Macmillan Coffee morning – a favourite amongst the team. As foodies we take the Macmillan Coffee morning pretty seriously – we host our very own ‘Great Office Bake-off’ with all the stops pulled out to win ‘Star Baker’.

In total, we raised a whopping £1133.83 for charity this year!

Next year we will be affiliating with a local charity so keep your eyes peeled for this announcement.
